Author Publishing Agreement
The Journal of Boredom Studies (JBS), published by the International Society of Boredom Studies (ISBS), is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal. The journal publishes its contents under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.
1. Copyright
The author(s) retain copyright and all other intellectual property rights in the submitted and published work.
Publication in the Journal of Boredom Studies does not constitute a transfer or assignment of copyright to the journal, the International Society of Boredom Studies, or any other party.
2. Licence to publish
By submitting a manuscript for publication in the Journal of Boredom Studies, the author(s) grant the journal and the International Society of Boredom Studies a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:

publish and reproduce the work in digital form;

make the work publicly available online;
-
communicate, distribute and disseminate the work through the journal’s website and through digital platforms, repositories, indexing and archiving services used by the journal;

preserve and archive the work in digital form; and
-
make the work available through OpenEdition Journals, should the journal be accepted for publication on the platform.
This licence is granted for the duration of the applicable copyright and does not prevent the author(s) from exercising any rights reserved to them under copyright law.
3. Creative Commons licence
The published version of the work will be made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.
Under this licence, readers and other users may share, copy, redistribute, adapt, remix, transform and build upon the work, including for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the author(s), a link to the licence is provided, and any changes are indicated.
The application of the CC BY 4.0 licence does not transfer copyright from the author(s) to the journal or to the International Society of Boredom Studies.
4. Originality and exclusive consideration
The author(s) confirm that:

the submitted work is original and has not been published previously, except where this has been expressly disclosed to and accepted by the journal;

the work is not simultaneously under consideration for publication in another journal;

all listed authors have made a substantial contribution to the work and have approved its final version; and
-
the submission complies with the Journal of Boredom Studies’ authorship and publication policies.
5. Third-party material
The author(s) are responsible for obtaining any permissions required for the inclusion and publication of third-party material contained in the work, including but not limited to photographs, illustrations, tables, figures, maps, diagrams, lengthy quotations and other copyrighted material.
Where such material is not covered by an applicable legal exception or an open licence permitting its use, the author(s) must obtain the necessary permission for its publication and digital reproduction.
The author(s) agree to provide evidence of such permission to the journal upon request.
6. Moral rights and attribution
Nothing in this agreement limits the author(s)’ moral rights or right to be identified as the author(s) of the work, insofar as such rights are recognised under applicable law.
The Journal of Boredom Studies will identify the author(s) and provide appropriate attribution in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 licence.
7. Author reuse and dissemination
Because copyright remains with the author(s), the author(s) retain the right to reuse, share, deposit and disseminate their work in accordance with the applicable copyright law and the terms of the CC BY 4.0 licence.
The author(s) may therefore make the published work available through institutional or subject repositories, personal websites, academic profiles and other appropriate channels, provided that the applicable attribution requirements are respected.
8. Acceptance
By submitting a manuscript to the Journal of Boredom Studies, the author(s) acknowledge that they have read and agree to the terms of this Author Publishing Agreement.
For manuscripts with more than one author, the submitting author confirms that all co-authors have authorised the submission and agree to the terms of this agreement.
